Who's Responsible!

I'm going to summarize an interesting article. Regulators are to blame for the subprime mess.

Hmmm. I guess that's true. Regulators seemed relatively unconcerned about the wildfire spread of exotic loans from the last several years. Now that a price is being paid, people want to point fingers. So who really is responsible for this mess? Is it the regulators? Well, without lenders and brokers to regulate, they wouldn't have much to do. Does that mean the lenders, brokers, investors, etc. are the real culprits? Was high volume, high revenue the crack for subprime lenders that ultimately destroyed them?

What do you think?
