I graduated cum laude from U of I College of Law, where I served as the school’s first two-term President. I won several trial competitions and received the coveted Outstanding Trial Advocate award.
After 5 years as a general practitioner and part time prosecutor, I wanted a more focused practice, so I accepted a position with an int'l software company providing compliance services and lending documents to mortgage bankers and brokers. As General Counsel, I was called upon to resolve a wide range of business-related issues all while assisting with the day-to-day compliance concerns in the heavily regulated mortgage lending industry. During my years as General Counsel, the company grew from a handful of employees to over 150 local and oversea staff.
I'm now Of Counsel with Angstman, Johnson & Assoc. where I handle a select number of real estate-related matters. I'm also the President and Chief Legal Officer for a cutting edge real estate advertising firm with very unique and creative solutions for a troubled real estate finance market. Lawyers are good at saying “no”. The real skill is finding solutions to make things work within the confines of the law. That’s my focus!
